CSS is hard (and a pain in the ass)

Yes this is most definitely a skill issue, but CSS is annoying me so I'm making a post about it.

So I've been trying to make a style.css for my website, which I know works but it just doesn't wan't to make everything centered!!!!, I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I've been trying several different methods to make my text centered!

Yes I know I can do the "center" tag but that doesn't work for what I'm going for! I've found like 4 different pieces of code for how I could do could do centered text but my style.css file just ain, uhhh styling.
